YES! please RSVP by MARCH 15. Even if you plan on not making it, there is a question where you can state that. When you enter your name in the RSVP section, it will guide through several questions not just about the whole weekend, but specifics on each event, and the likelihood of your attendance. This helps us keep in mind who will for sure be there, and if space opens up to invite others, given the nature of the small number of guests. THANK YOU!!!!
There are direct flights from many major cities in the US to Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), including from Austin, Houston, and both coasts. They tend to be relatively inexpensive in the summer months. After flying to Los Cabos, you will need to travel about 1 hour and 15 minutes by car to Todos Santos. We will arrange a shuttle transport option on Friday from the airport to Hotel San Cristobal and on Monday from the hotel back to the airport. We hope to provide more details soon. You may also choose to rent a car from the airport and drive. The most direct route is on the 1D interstate for most of the trip. This option will give you more flexibility if you'd like to explore the town or the surrounding beaches and hiking areas.
Yes, if you're traveling from the U.S. or other foreign countries, a valid passport is required to enter Mexico. Most visitors do not need a visa for short trips (under 180 days), but it’s a good idea to check the latest entry requirements for your nationality.
We have a room block of 15 rooms at the wedding venue that should cover the needs of all our guests. Please return to the Travel section of this site, where you can click directly to the booking page. Hotel booking MUST be done before April 1. You may also email the booking manager directly to book on our room block: Dario.Castillo@sancristobalbaja.com
Todos Santos enjoys warm, sunny weather for most of the year. The average temperature in the area ranges from 75°F to 85°F (24°C to 29°C). Summers (June to September) are hotter and can be humid, with occasional rain. The average high in July is 85°F ( 29°C) and average low is 68°F (20°C).
Road Conditions: Roads between Los Cabos and Todos Santos are paved and generally well-maintained. Watch for speed bumps (“topes”) in towns and wildlife like goats or cows on rural roads. The road from Todos Santos to Hotel San Cristóbal is a sand/dirt surface but is also well-maintained. A standard rental car (sedan or crossover) should be sufficient for this route. Exploring the Area: If you plan to explore beyond the main roads, a high-clearance vehicle and possibly AWD are recommended. Sand is common, and getting stuck can be an issue in some areas. Car Rental Insurance: Mexican law requires Third-Party Liability Insurance for rental cars, which must be purchased from a Mexican insurance provider. This typically costs $10–$20 USD per day and may not be included in your rental quote. U.S. car insurance or credit card coverage does not meet this requirement, so confirm insurance costs with the rental agency before booking. Parking: The hotel has ample parking.
Sadly, our venue is adults-only, so get grandma on the phone for a quick summer parent's getaway.
It’s recommended to drink bottled water while in Todos Santos. Most hotels, restaurants, and venues offer filtered water, but for extra precaution, bottled water is widely available and inexpensive. The hotel will provide plenty of purified drinking water in the hotel rooms and in the common areas. Bottled water will also be available for purchase at the hotel where the wedding will take place.
Yes, tipping is customary in Mexico. It’s typical to leave a 10–15% tip at restaurants and bars, and it’s also appreciated to tip hotel staff (such as housekeeping or bell service) and taxi drivers. In more touristy areas like Todos Santos, staff are used to receiving tips, so feel free to tip based on the quality of service.
Todos Santos is a laid-back, artistic town with strong local traditions. It's a good idea to learn a few basic Spanish phrases, though English is widely spoken. People in Todos Santos are friendly and welcoming, and it’s polite to greet with a handshake or a friendly “hola.” When visiting churches or more traditional places, modest clothing is recommended.
No specific vaccinations are required for travel to Mexico, but it’s always a good idea to be up to date with routine vaccinations. Use sunscreen to protect against the strong sun, and stay hydrated. If you have any specific health concerns, it’s best to consult your doctor before traveling.
The official currency is the Mexican Peso (MXN), but U.S. dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas. It’s still a good idea to carry some pesos for small purchases, local shops, or tips. Major credit cards are also accepted in most places, but you may want to check foreign transaction fees for your specific card.
There is wifi for hotel guests at The San Cristobal, and most hotels, restaurants, and cafes in Todos Santos offer free Wi-Fi, so you can stay connected without using data.
Here are some things to keep in mind: - Sunscreen & hats: The sun is strong in Baja, especially in the summer. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses to protect yourself. Parasols will be provided during the wedding ceremony for shade! You are welcome to wear an elegant hat that matches your attire for the ceremony as well. - Layers: While days can be warm, evenings can cool off, especially in winter. A light jacket or shawl is a good idea for the evenings. - Comfortable shoes: If you plan to explore the town or nearby beaches, comfortable walking shoes are a must. The streets in Todos Santos are charming but often cobblestone, uneven, or unpaved. - Swimsuit and swimming accessories: The hotel will provide towels and will have some basic amenities. There is a pool and also some swimmable and surf-able beaches in the vicinity. If you plan to surf, you can rent boards and wetsuits in the local beach in the town of Todos Santos.
While Ubers are not available in Todos Santos, shuttles can be arranged through the hotel. Keep in mind that taxis can be expensive for travel between towns. If you're staying at the San Cristobal and don’t have a car, we will provide shuttle service from airport to hotel and for our farewell dinner in the town- so it won't be necessary.
