Nathan took notice of Maria after seeing smiley faces on the lid of his coffee each time he stopped at the Looney Baker, soon he even started to notice days where "The Donut Girl" would come to shop at Stan's Market. Maria made a point to remember the regular customers at Looney, as well as their orders, and she added smiley faces on the coffee lids of her favorite regulars. She especially looked forward to seeing Nathan (known as medium mocha and custard donut at the time). Over the next few months, their morning small talk turned into long conversations before they finally went on their first date in May! Throughout the summer, they stayed friends before finally admitting their feelings for each other and actually dating in October 2018! After many years together, on December 23, 2024, Nathan and Maria had gotten home from work and had a long night of preparing food, having tough conversations, and finishing all their typical house work before finally getting ready for bed. Nathan insisted that Maria receive an early gift, and It was then that Nathan looked at his beautiful girlfriend in her nightgown and folding laundry, that he knew their life together was nearly perfect. Through the highs and lows of life, Maria and Nathan have persevered together, and they were more than ready for the next chapter in their lives. Nathan pulled the gift he had been holding onto since September and dropped to one knee to ask the question - and of course, she said yes! We can't wait to see what the future holds as Mr. And Mrs. Pfeifer!
