It wasn't a warm June evening and it was actually very much the opposite. It was a cold and blustery day during the great Bethesda, MD blizzard of January 2016. Theresa and I were working at a small and unremarkable travel insurance/emergency assistance company named Europ Assistance USA. The only thing remarkably interesting about that company was that it brought us together and helped foster our budding relationship. Theresa and I were both "essential" employees and were asked to work during the great blizzard and in so doing were offered nearby hotel accommodations due to the falling snow that had started (and would continue to fall for days). So there we were, a full day of work completed as snow piled up in the streets only allowing for us to walk to and from work and anywhere close by we needed to go. A small group of employee's which included Theresa & I decided to visit Union Jacks; the only open and operating bar and restaurant in during the blizzard. We had been cordially speaking as friends before our snow piled outing, but that night as we sat together and reveled with our work friends we became something more. By the end of our night we strolled through empty snow blanketed streets of Bethesda with our work friends leading the way while Theresa and I slowly trailed behind with hands held and open hearts. From that night on we grew closer and have never stopped since and now 5 years on we take a new step in our growth which we are overjoyed to share with you.
