Our story began in early 2020, and we have the good ol’ Facebook algorithm to thank for our introduction. Scott was casually doom-scrolling, as one does, when Nate popped up as a “suggested friend.” Scott immediately hit Add Friend and, luckily, Nate accepted shortly after. Upon seeing that acceptance, Scott wasted no time sliding into Nate’s DMs with an ever-so-charming and timelessly smooth, “Hey 😊.” With moves like that, how could Nate not respond? Unfortunately for us the timing was not ideal. After picking our first in-person date, the whole world decided to lock down, restaurants boarded up, and toilet paper was suddenly a scarce resource. Like everyone else, we were hesitant at first buuuut then said, "Nah, let's risk it." A socially distanced walk around Nelson’s Ledges was the original plan, but that somehow turned into an eight-hour date and a visit to one of the finest dining establishments in all the land, Dairy Queen. Because even during the apocalypse, ice cream is essential. Since then, our little duo has grown into a trio with the addition of our sweet chicken nugget of a dog, Winifred Sanderson HigniteauFrance. We now call the bustling metropolis of Madison, Ohio home. We’ve racked up plenty of adventures across the map, both domestic and abroad, but we agree our favorite was our most recent trip to Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. Somewhere along the way, Scott decided he loved Nate so much that it was time to get the government involved. He asked Nate to marry him at Neuschwanstein Castle, the actual fairytale castle that inspired the Disney castle. Nate said yes faster than you can say “happily ever after.” From a bold Facebook message to defying a pandemic shutdown to getting engaged at a legit fairytale castle, we’re ready to keep turning the pages in our own ridiculous, wonderful love story.
