We had been close friends just about since school that last year started, and had been going on dates most weekends for months but nothing was official. It was Eva’s birthday and she thought she was going to spend it all alone in Ephraim, but Nate had other plans. He showed up at three o’clock with a bouquet of hand picked wild flowers and a Lego set! They built the Lego set together and lost track of time just talking and enjoying each other’s company. Then he said they had a movie to get to and they went to see the live action “How to Train Your Dragon” movie. They almost had their first kiss at the movie theater, but obviously that wasn’t romantic enough. After the movie they ordered a pizza and went to Walmart to walk around the plant section and look at the flowers. Then later that night they went star gazing, they talked about life, and family, and snuggled up under the stars. Then after a long silence Nate whispered, “Hey Eva? Will you be my girlfriend?” And of course she said yes! They shared a very sweet kiss under the stars and then Nate whispered again, “I think maybe, just maybe, we’ll see, but I think you might’ve made me believe in love again” and right then a shooting star flew by, and the rest was history.
