Last November 16th, Nathaniel was having a men's breakfast with our church, and I was having lunch with my old friends from college. When Nathaniel picked me up at the end of my day, he invited me to a silly dinner and then invited me over to his friend Brandon's house. When we arrived at his friend's house, we saw very pretty decorations in the distance with balloons, lights, sparklers, a colourful fire, romantic music, white petals on the ground, etc. As we got closer, we saw a sign that said N & E Forever, a sign made by his friend Brandon and his girlfriend. I wanted to see all the pretty decorations without thinking about anything else but Nathaniel insisted I sit down. Finally, when I sat down, "Marry You by Bruno Mars" started playing louder, and with Nate on his knees, turned away from me, he lit all the sparklers at the same time, which were set up around the fireplace. Then he took a ring out of his pocket and with tears in his eyes, turned to me and with emotion in his voice, he said, "I couldn't imagine my life with anyone else. You are the love of my life. I love you so much. Will you make me the happiest man in the world, by joining my side for the rest of my life?" To which I replied, "Yes, I will" with a hug and so much joy in my heart. Everything happened so fast; we got engaged and it was so beautiful and perfect. Months before, he had met with my father and mother virtually, to ask for my hand in marriage, with a speech he had written in Spanish and with the help of my sister, they gave him their permission and blessing!
