Abby and Nate first met at Sam Houston State University in August of 2019. The two were introduced to one another through a mutual friend from classes they both attended. Soon after their first interaction, Nate decided to reach out to Abby and ask if she would like to grab dinner at one of Huntsville's finest establishments: Olive Garden. After many breadsticks and laughs, they began feeling a connection they hadn't felt before. Once dinner was over and they began saying their goodbyes, they realized this was just the beginning of their story. After about two weeks of knowing one another, Abby and Nathaniel "made it official". As expected, the two decided to go with a more "untraditional" route of meeting each others family (alcohol, nose piercings, and forgotten birthdays equals a chaotic first impression). As time went on, their relationship persevered through a global pandemic, a snow storm, and a wrecking ball on four legs #Blue. When reflecting on the years together, a few of the couples highlighted moments are singing their hearts out together at various concerts, celebrating both college graduations, many trips to Fredricksburg, competing against each other at Dave n Busters, and their daily Kroger trips (yes, we go here alot). And after five years, 2 degrees, 1 pup, and many shots of tequila (thanks to Abby), Nate decided it might be time to make Abbys' hand a little bit heavier. The two decided to plan a fun/quick getaway to Hot Springs, Arkansas. While on there trip, the couple planned to go on some hikes (aka scenic walks), shop around downtown, eat delicious food, and so much more. One of the activities the couple was most excited for was the "hike" through Woodlands Garven Gardens, home of Anthonys Chapel. On July 20th, the the following morning of their arrival to Hot Springs, the two decide to start their trip with a visit to the Woodlands Gardens. Unbeknownst to Abby, this wasn't just any ordinary trip. Upon their arrival, the two grabbed a brochure and headed down the path. As they got closer and closer to the 'designated spot', the anticipation of the moment continued to build up for Nathaniel. So much so that he even forgot to spit out the gum he was chomping on (oops). While Abby was successfully distracted by the scavenger hunt she received at the front, Nathaniel decided to veer off from the original script. With the excitement just taking over, he decided to take a knee next to the gardens most exquisite attraction: the trash can. Without missing a beat, Abby of course said yes. Following this, she also decided to fill the air with a few other beautiful words including her favorite phrase: 'What the F---'. With the ring now sitting gracefully on her finger, the two knew that the next chapter of their story was about to begin. The end bitches. - The Davis Duo
