Amber and Nathaniel both were living in the same apartment complex when they met in one evening in February ‘22. They were both relaxing in the hot tub when they introduced themselves and began to talk. Being from Ohio, Nathaniel noticed how Amber was a “social Minnesotan” who seemed to want to make new friends (a different experience than what he was used to since moving to Minnesota). They began to spend more time together doing their shared common interests of long walks through the city, cooking, hot tubing, golfing, exploring new food and drink places in the city and tending to their tiny indoor apartment gardens. They also discovered they have a shared love for sauerkraut. During this time, Amber had been newly baptized. Her faith and growing closer to the Lord was the most important thing in her life (as it still is). She had a passion for teaching children about Jesus. On one of their walks, Nathaniel shared how he was also a Christian and taught Sunday school at this local church. He impressed her by sharing that he taught his kindergarten class all the books for the Bible, in order ;-) They bonded even more over their love for God and their love for kids. Nathaniel loved how expressive Amber was in her faith and Amber loved how theologically sound Nathaniel was. Six months after meeting and building a solid foundation on friendship and faith, Nathaniel finally asked Amber on a date. A little over a year after their first date, Nathaniel proposed on September 17th, 2023. Thank you all for impacting the people we are today, for all the encouragement and prayers. We can’t wait to spend our special day with the people we love most.
