Cassie and Nathan weren't sure they believed that cliché...until they met. They met on March 6th (yes, just a few months ago) in Oceanside, California. They were connected through a dating app, and shortly after, realized they attend the same church, despite living 100+ miles away.

Nathan and Cassie believe their story is a testament to God's faithfulness and His timing. They both feel they waited a long time for one another, are grateful they never settled, and they believe wholeheartedly that they were created for each other, by God, and for no one else. From the very beginning, their conversations naturally revolved around a future together – building a life, raising children, and doing ministry hand in hand. In their first premarital interview with their pastor, he asked them to describe their relationship in just a few words. Without hesitation, Nathan and Cassie said, "divine, spirit-led, serendipitous, anointed, ordained by God, peaceful, and easy." These words perfectly encapsulate the essence of their bond, one that they have felt was orchestrated and ordained by God long before they even met.

Their connection feels like a mathematical impossibility, filled with incredible ways they are meant for each other. Despite living 100+ miles apart, they discovered how similar and close together they actually are. They both attend the same church, a critical connection as their faith and beliefs align perfectly. They both have a professional interest in growing health businesses and a passion for entrepreneurship, health, and functional medicine. They share the same rare mold allergy, understanding each other in ways that others could never comprehend. Cassie grew up in Minnesota, close to many of Nathan's cousins and relatives. They later learned that Cassie’s dad and Nathan’s dad grew up in the same town! Additionally, Nathan and Cassie were shocked to learn that they had both previously decided on the same daughter's name over a decade ago, another impossibility that has somehow started to feel very common between them. These countless reasons make their connection feel like a love story, a sentiment they experience every time they look at each other.

After their second date, Nathan felt the Lord telling him clearly that Cassie was the one he would marry, have a family with, do ministry with, and live an incredible life with. He felt compelled to share it but instead of sending her that exact message, he sent her a different message on March 21st that read, "Cass, I am very sure about you and can’t wait to see you again." A couple weeks later, Nathan shared with Cassie that he had originally composed a different message, but didn’t want to scare her away, one that read, "Cass, I am going to marry you, have beautiful children together, and do ministry work together, and have an amazing life." In a remarkable turn of events that can only be explained by divine intervention, they discovered weeks after that conversation that Cassie had journaled the same message Nathan had felt on the very morning of March 21st. In that journal entry, she wrote, “I have finally met the man that you have for me. The one I am going to marry, to build a life with, to create a family with, and do ministry and kingdom work with.” It was weeks after their conversation, on May 4th, that Cassie discovered what she had written in her journal on that day. This profound truth, with the same words, spoken to both of them individually by the Lord and captured in Cassie's journal, was an undeniable confirmation of God’s hand in their relationship.

Their faith has always been a cornerstone of their relationship. Nathan’s favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 3:20, speaks to his belief in God’s ability to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power at work within us. Cassie’s cherished verse, Isaiah 61:1, reflects her compassionate heart and dedication to helping others break free from challenges, empowering the brokenhearted, and providing them a message of hope and restoration. These verses have not only guided their individual lives but have also been a foundation for their relationship, reinforcing their belief that God has brought them together for a purpose greater than themselves. Nathan and Cassie have also committed to maintaining purity in their relationship, honoring God's design for intimacy within the bounds of marriage. This commitment has strengthened their bond and deepened their spiritual connection, serving as a testament to their shared values and faith.

People often wonder how we moved so quickly without feeling rushed. The truth is, every step felt perfect. We were confident in God's plan, and it never felt hurried. Every decision was filled with excitement and anticipation because we knew the Lord had spoken to us. We took time to pray and seek God’s wisdom and wise counsel between our dates. Nathan and I both love surprises!
