One evening, Nathan was scrolling through Snapchat stories when he saw that one of his friends, Zoe Oster, had posted a picture of a cute girl she was studying with. Naturally, he replied and asked, “Who is that?” Zoe gave him her Snapchat, and they never stopped talking after that. After countless messages, even more hours spent on FaceTime, and more plane tickets than they can count, they realized they were meant for one another. Now, they’re choosing to keep talking every day—forever and ever.
After four months of late-night FaceTime calls and endless messages, they finally met in person. Victoria spent eight days in the United States—eight days of firsts: their first time holding hands, their first kiss, and the quiet certainty that what had grown at a distance was real. When she returned home, it took less than a week for Nathan to follow his heart all the way to Argentina. From then on, their story became one of journeys, reunions, and choosing each other—again and again.
November 29. My first time ever getting on a cruise. I had been afraid of them since I was little, but somehow life— or God— decided to reward me with a family completely obsessed with them. Ironic. During those seven days, I felt that something was off. At first, it was just my own nerves in the middle of the Caribbean. Then there was Nathan. He was different. Nervous. Almost as if he were afraid of cruises… even though he had already been on more than twenty in his life. So yes, something wasn’t adding up. Something that, apparently, about 80% of the ship already knew. (Thanks, Mami Yazmin.) After a long day in the Bahamas, all I wanted was to do absolutely nothing. But Nathan insisted that we go watch the sunset. We walked, talked about life, and when the sun began to disappear, he asked me to record a video so we could take photos from it later. When he walked back toward me… he was crying. He knelt down and told me that after seeing what a life with me could be like, he couldn’t imagine a life without me. And there, with the ocean behind us and my heart racing, I said yes.
