Welp! Covid Happened...

We're (finally) DOING IT! (BUT PRIVATELY)

After MULTIPLE reschedulings and delays we're finally doing it!... But by ourselves. WEDDING CELEBRATION CANCELLED. We WERE super excited to have you join us for an updated wedding celebration in San Luis Obispo on October 30. However, due to the uncertainty of current mandates, we've decided that its best to be off this crazy train. Thanks so very much to you all for hanging in there with us and revamping plans multiple times. We love you all and hope to see you soon. We've created a Private Facebook Group called Sonja & Nathan's wedding: https://www.facebook.com/groups/sonjaandnathanswedding. There you can share messages, post embarrassing memories/pics and honor us with all your words of wisdom and advice for the newly weds. HOW WE MET

The City by the Bay: A chance encounter, a lifetime of love.

Sonja's Version: We met in San Francisco. Nathan was traveling for work and living in Kansas City at the time. We met on a dating app. He was handsome and stoic. I opened with a snarky joke and the rest is history. We met at Tradition, a cocktail bar in the glamorous Tenderloin District of SF. Snarky jokes turned into childhood commonalities and shared passion for similar music and art. We met again a week or so later when Nathan was in SF again for work. We toured the city on an epic day: met up on Van Ness, trolly to Ferry Building for snacks and beers. Bottle of wine, cheese and bread in tow, we made our way to Sutro Baths. We sat on a cliff overlooking the ocean while we watched the sun set behind a heart shaped rock. We talked and laughed and fell in love. During our first year of dating we spent countless days walking around and exploring the city-- urban hikes, park picnics w/90s indie rock, and our favorite, "walkabouts" in various neighborhoods stopping in on new restaurants and watering holes. SF may not be our current home, but it will always be the core of a cherished moment in time. SF is the city where I "grew up" despite the fact that I moved there when I was 25. It brought me my lifetime of love, my mischievous partner, my superhero counterpart to conquer the world.

Finding True Love

(In the Stinky City by the Bay)

Nathan’s version It’s hard to say how we met. Some think that we were two strangers sucked up together in the vortex of a twister, flung hundreds of miles away, only to find true love on our journey home. Others share tall-tales of epic wizardry, yodas and the slaying of fire-breathing-cocktails until the ring of Gibraltar was incased in carbonite. The truth is, it is both and many other versions. Any tall tale you can think of is nothing compared to the epic magic that brought us together. Some day we'll all sit around a campfire and share. The only thing that matters is that we met. When you meet someone who loves and balances you in such a perfect manner it feels like everyday is as victorious as being crowned the heavy-weight hot dog eating champions of the world. I truly love and adore Sonja more and more every day and I will save the rest for our wedding vows. Hope to see all my friends, loved ones and family together next April to celebrate a truly amazing day.
