I was entering my third semester of sonography school at Wallace State following getting halted by covid. My clinical site was at Helen Keller Hospital (my current workplace lol) and this cutie radiology student walked in one day while I was getting my hours in, and the rest is history. I never knew love at first site existed until I met Nathan and I am forever grateful for that.
We met at Mcfarland Park and got Miami Ice. He pulled up in his big red truck and I was immediately sold haha. He paid for my drink, and we sat at the picnic tables for a good while. It was like we had known each other forever. I knew he was someone special - I just didn't know how special.
We met at Mcfarland Park again and he drove us to the "lookout" in Sheffield. I had never been there before. We sat in the truck and talked for hours.
We had just finished hanging out and we were sitting in his truck, and he hesitated to get out. I asked what the holdup was, and he looked at me and asked if I wanted to date him. I immediately said yes and almost told him I loved him lol .
We had planned on going to dinner on Monday night, but I didn't think anything of it. He picks me up, we take pictures, and head into town. I thought we were going to Hobby Lobby to kill time before dinner. Next thing I knew we were headed towards McFarland Park - where we had our first date. We get out, I'm taking pictures with my polaroid then his photographer friends show up with their baby - I assumed they were taking a walk. Then Nathan starts telling me "I need to ask you something." I start to panic and pitch my camera across the yard so it's not in the pictures haha. Next thing I know, he's on one knee. We immediately facetime our friends and family. We came home to a mini engagement party that Ruby planned for us. It was the most perfect Monday! We got engaged 08/21/23 and are getting married 09/21/24.
