How We Met

A Random Text Message

One evening two couples were out for dinner, and two unsuspecting people (Michelle and Nathan) were about to get setup on a blind meeting. After a couple of weeks went by, a date and time had been set to meetup with the Fillipazzo's at Drake's for some drinks. A few hours of chatting went by, and then Jason and Mandy decided it was time to go home. Nathan thought things were going pretty well so he asked Michelle if she'd like to stay a little longer. A couple more hours went by and they decided to start making their way to the parking lot and go home. After walking Michelle to her car, like the gentleman that he is, they kept talking for a few a bit longer (and helped a stranger jump start their car). Over the next week, Michelle went for a little vacation with her parents, and the two kept in contact over text message. When she came back to Louisville, Nathan asked her for a second date (well first real date). They went on a few more dates and after about a month of laughs and adventures, Michelle popped the "so.... what are we?" question to Nathan. To which he responded by asking Alexa to play "Check Yes or No" by George Strait.

The Engagement

Closing Day

The closing date for their house had been set, January 17th. It was going to be a special day, but Nathan knew that it was going to be even more special. He had an engagement ring that had been burning a hole in his pocket since the end of August. As the day came closer, he finally started to put his plan together. With the help of his realtor, mortgage broker, and the closing specialist he was going to wait until all of the official documents for the house were signed, and then have a special document with his feelings spelled out. As the final document was slid in front of her (thankfully she actually read it, and didn't just sign it and slide it over), Nathan got up out of his chair, and pulled out the ring and got down on one knee waiting for her to turn and give him an answer (it took a few minutes). She said yes, and they lived happily ever after!
