A beautiful waterfall, with a great swimming hole for those willing to brave the cold water! No hiking necessary, just a short walk from the road; you do have to scramble down a short steep hill to reach the swimming hole.
There are a number of VT state parks near us - check out their website to see all park locations and the outdoor activities you can do there.
A nonprofit education center for sustainability, 1,400-acre working farm, and National Historic Landmark on the shores of Lake Champlain. Walk the trails with views of the lake, learn about cheese-making and farm animals, or visit their farm store to try some of their delicious cheeses and other products made right there at the farm.
A charming college town with shops, restaurants, museums, the UVM Morgan Horse Farm, and outdoor activities.

It's hard to pinpoint just one thing to do in Burlington (and to be honest we haven't explored much there, as there's so much to do right around us) - so we'll just direct you to this great website all about things to do in Burlington. :)
We haven't yet checked this out for ourselves, but hear from friends that it's a great outing in the summer.
