We're Getting Married!

Nathan traveled to Maryland at the invitation of his pastor to attend a conference. Little did he know, this trip would change his life forever. Meron, also invited by her pastor, attended the same conference. During the first half of the event, Meron didn't even notice Nathan. However, Nathan noticed Meron. He first saw Meron sitting and having conversations with a friend over coffee. Sheepishly he interrupted their conversation stuttering over his words to introduce himself, yet Meron paid him no mind. Hurriedly Nathan moved on feeling his hello was an awkward intrusion. The conference held a black tie dinner with assigned seating. By divine intervention Nathan found himself seated next to the stunning Meron. There they struck up deep, fun, and meaningful conversation. Sharing their experiences, dreams, and passions. They laughed and talked the night away. Meron believed Nathan was young and in his early twenties. She decided to set Nathan up with her younger sister, but unfortunately left the dinner in a hurry before she could exchange contacts with him. At the end of the night, Nathan searched for Meron to no luck. He had missed his opportunity to further get to know Meron. Nathan searched for Meron's social media account in hopes of continuing their conversations. He found Meron, reached out, and they began chatting. Nathan's interests grew with each conversation, but Meron was working to connect him with her younger sister throughout it all. Days turned to weeks and Nathan began to fall who Meron was inside and out. After seeking the Lord in prayer and advisement from his pastor, Nathan decided it was time to make his intentions clear. He thought it would be simple because he mistakenly believed that Meron was definitely going to be on the same page, so he shared his heart openly. When it became clear to Meron that Nathan was pursuing her, not her sister it was a shock. It wasn't until then she asked his age and realized Nathan was in fact a year older than herself! Shifting gears quickly, Meron asked for time to seek the Lord about the matter. Meron and Nathan both took time to fast and pray about the possibility of this budding relationship. In seeking God’s guidance they separately found confirmation in the same passage, Proverbs 3:5-6, trusting that God was orchestrating two paths into one. For months, despite a 1600 mile gap between Denver and Maryland, they grew the beginning of a beautiful relationship and friendship. Their bond only grew stronger when God opened opportunity for Meron to move to Denver for school. Every detail of their relationship was coordinated by The Lord, and they continue to accredit Him with the glory. They continued to seek the Lord in their lives, and he brought them closer, and closer with each passing day. Nathan knew Meron was his person, and sought the Lord for when to make it official to Meron with a ring. When the right time came Nathan proposed to Meron, and she said yes! Now the two are planning to become one in matrimony. Their journey is a testament to how God wrote every detail, magnifying Himself through their love story, and they wouldn't have it any other way. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." -Proverbs 3:5-6
