Collectively, the Peaks of Otter are three summits around Abbott Lake along the Blue Ridge Parkway near milepost 85.6 and Route 43, which leads to Bedford. Peaks of Otter is one of the signature stops along the Parkway in Virginia's Blue Ridge and the hiking trails are popular with locals and sightseers alike.
Peaks of Otter’s Lake View Restaurant is a renowned dining destination on the Blue Ridge Parkway, with spectacular views of Abbott Lake and Sharp Top Mountain. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in season.
The park is open year-round (dawn - dusk) and offers a partly-covered handicap accessible fishing pier with seating, picnic shelters with grill, playground area, restrooms, hiking, jogging, 1.7 miles of walking trails, and a seasonal community beach with lifeguards on duty when open.
Abbott Lake is right at the lodge – you can walk around it, picnic, fish, or just sit and enjoy the view of the mountains.
