It was August 23rd, 2022. Fall semester classes were kicking off at Liberty University (Lillian's first semester; Nathan's second) and both Nathan and Lillian had on their schedules a class called "MUSC200: Music, Art, Worship & Culture." Being that it was the first day of Tuesday/Thursday classes, Nathan and one of his friends in the class arrived early, making sure to find good seats, which they did, sitting next to some other friends of theirs. However, as other students arrived for class, Nathan and his friend ended up getting asked to move down their aisle, moving them away from their friends. Now, Lillian being already in the building from a class earlier that morning, headed to MUSC200, where she joined a friend who was saving seats for her and a girl she had just met from the class prior. Now, as Nathan and his friend were sitting down in their new seats, being isolated from familiar faces, he turned to his friend and exclaimed "Ugh, now we have to be extroverted and make new friends!" Lillian, who was sitting in front of them, hearing this, turned around with her friend and said to Nathan, "We want to make new friends!" They didn't know it then, but this moment changed their lives forever. Over the course of that semester, Nathan and Lillian got to know each other. What started with just talking in class, gradually grew into hanging out together with friends; little by little, their hearts were growing fond for one another. Following Thanksgiving break, Nathan could not deny the feelings that he had for Lillian and was determined that was he was going to "date this girl" as he told his brother. Soon after getting back from break, Nathan gained up the courage and asked Lillian to lunch and confessed his feelings and intentions for their relationship to her. Feeling the same way, Lillian confessed her feelings, sharing that she had been praying to God that if it wasn't His will that Nathan were to be in her life, for Him to take him out of it. Now, being that it was the end of Fall semester, Nathan and Lillian dedicated to continue getting to know one another more over Winter break; and they did - calling and FaceTiming frequently throughout the break. That next semester, Nathan and Lillian started off by going on a series of dates which all lead to one night, February 10, 2023, where Nathan asked Lillian to be his girlfriend, and she said yes. The next couple years, Nathan and Lillian walked through all kinds of different seasons together: from long-distance summers to summer internships together, to attending Liberty together and most recently living in two different states. And after two years and seven months of dating, the day had finally come. It was September 19, 2025, and Nathan got down on one knee and asked Lillian if she would marry him, to which she gave a resounding YES! And that, is Our Story.
