Whether you're in a rental home, hotel, or B&B, you can buy non-resident beach stickers ($80 per car per week) that provide access to nicer area beaches. Public beaches are $20 or $30 per car per day. Click the View link below for a beach list. To get stickers: - After checking into your rental or lodging (passes are not available in advance or online), go to the Ellen T. Mitchell Bathhouse at 56 Surf Drive in Falmouth. - Bring proof (contract, invoice, etc.) that you're in a rental, hotel, or B&B (incl your arrival / departure dates). - Only cash or credit/debit cards (4.5% surcharge for latter) are accepted. Note: *Most beaches are free after 4:45 pm.* Surf Drive beach (public) is sandy but rocky in areas and swimming is limited due to large rocks in the water. Old Silver Beach is sandy but crowded (cars may line up to wait for parking). Goodwill Park has a fresh water swimming pond and free access / parking. *Anyone can walk or bike into ANY Falmouth beaches for free.*
Large public park with playground, expansive grassy areas, two pavilions with picnic tables, and a beachfront on a large freshwater pond that's open for swimming. Plenty of parking, free access to public. Short drive (5 mins) from Falmouth town center.
Variety of great restaurants, fun / fashionable / funky shops to browse, multiple ice cream and fudge / candy places, a small park with green space and a short walking trail, and a carousel (https://www.carouseloflight.org/). Short walk from Inn on the Square, Captain's Manor Inn, and other lodgings on our list. Worth one (or more) visits!
Excellent coffee and baked goods; lots of cozy seating. Short walk (across the street) from Inn on the Square hotel. Just outside of the heart of Falmouth's downtown area, so you don't need to navigate busy sidewalks or compete for parking.
Casual location for breakfast, lunch, and (depending on the day) dinner. Inside and outside (picnic tables on patio) dining.
Amazing authentic French bakery with a well-deserved reputation for deliciousness and a loyal following. During the height of summer tourist season, expect to wait in a long line unless you go when it opens at 7 a.m.
Greek food
Directly across from Inn on the Square and close to the Shining Sea bike path.
Accessible to public; limited parking. Pretty walk to a gorgeous point that juts out into the ocean. Great spot to watch sunsets (but very popular--parking could be a limiting factor).
