In September 2018, Nathan & Leah met in the picturesque town of Mijas, Spain while attending G42 Leadership Academy. Leah arrived at G42 and was immediately intrigued by Nathan's presence in their house and the classroom. She tried to get him to notice her but God had other plans for that time. He brought her on the raw, emotional journey of embodying His truths: "You were born to be loved" "Marriage is not the point" "Be unreasonable" Nathan was a G42 senior welcoming in Leah's class. At the time, he was consumed with discovering his purpose in God’s Kingdom. Although Leah overtly flirted, he was oblivious to any of her signals. On a Tuesday in October, Leah asked Nathan to coffee. She explained, unbeknownst to him, she held expectations in her heart that he could not live up to. She realized she was asking him to fill a need that only God could satisfy. He responded with grace & suggested they stay as friends. That didn't last very long as Leah's vulnerability released her to be her true self, finally capturing Nathan's attention. Not more than a few days later, Nathan asked Leah to go on a hike with the intention of asking to pursue her. Leah was surprised but Nathan’s purity in pursuit drew her in. In dating, they quickly discovered good things have to be fought for. And through traveling and transition, fight they did. Leah was Nathan's first girlfriend, pushing him to discover what it means to be a man of God within relationship. Leah dated plenty of boys but never such a Christ-centered man. Preconceived notions of what a relationship should be led to wrestling through layers of each of their stories. Jesus used them as iron sharpening iron, leaving behind rust, lies, & false identities. The more they chose each other, the more they resembled Christ & His bride. After 2 years of transformation, and fully secure in Christ, Nathan & Leah are joyfully choosing covenant - together they will forever pursue His Kingdom and Love.
