Depends on who you ask. If you ask Nathan, he will tell you that the first time he noticed Kristin, she fainted in Anatomy Lab during her freshman year at Indiana Wesleyan University. If you ask Kristin, she will purposefully leave that part out and just skip to the awkward smiles and waves they exchanged while on campus together. During Kristin's junior year and Nathan's senior year, they matched on a dating app. Almost immediately after, Kristin deleted her profile! Not more than a few weeks after this awkward online encounter, they realized that they were on the same intramural soccer team together. Numbers were exchanged because TEAMMATES ;) Kristin took the opportunity to flirt and Nathan flirted back. Shortly before Nathan's college graduation, Nathan broke the news that he was moving back to his hometown, and then to Kansas, and was not looking to pursue anything romantic. Kristin understood, and it reminded her that there were still good guys out there.
Fast forward a few years of dating other people and moving to different places (Kristin travel nursing and Nathan living in Kansas), and finally in the spring 2020, they both found themselves living in Indiana again. It was the height of COVID and Kristin, being the goofball that she is, decided to march around the house in onesie pajamas and no makeup. She took a photo, and posted about it on social media. Nathan messaged her about it saying something like "Slay. I'm a little jealous." Obviously remembering her college crush, Kristin took the chance to flirt and the conversation continued. Nathan, trying to be smooth, messaged Kristin his number suggesting that they text instead. He obviously forgot she already had his number from the intramural soccer team! Remember, TEAMMATES! They talked and talked and eventually decided to go on a date. Planning to meet up in Indianapolis, Kristin drove down early to meet her brother and her brother's now wife for lunch. During this lunch, she decided to faint, AGAIN. She ends up going to the hospital in an ambulance, and while she is in the back of the ambulance, Nathan texted her. He told her that because of the Black Lives Matter riots that were happening in Indianapolis, their dinner reservations were cancelled. He assured her that he would find another restaurant, and she assured him that she would try her best to make it, and stay upright for the duration of the date. The first date was at a restaurant called Vino Villa. They immediately clicked. They both knew that there would be a second date. And then, there was a 3rd, and a 4th, and they were hooked.
