One of the few green spaces in Dallas -- several miles of trails surround the lake. Our favorite trailhead is on the lower west wide and leads to the White Rock Spillway and Filter Building. (Park at White Rock Alehouse and Brewery.)
Bring your wallet.
Quite a large collection of art and artifacts with free admission. Klyde Warren Park and all its food trucks is across the street, if you're feeling snackish.
A local brewery right off the lake trails. Great patio and local rotations of beer.
A bookstore/coffee/cocktail bar and patio. Our top recommendation for the ceremony-to-reception gap!
Great dive bar with live blues music and pool tables.
Order bistec and pastor with everything. Horchata to drink.
Farm-to-market rooftop bar with great views of Lowest Greenville and the Dallas skyline. If you get here before sunset, you can toast the evening with the staff.
Our order: Yellow curry, Thai fried rice, and crab rangoons.
The historic theatre where Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested.
Food trucks, playgrounds, live music
Beautiful walking trails that open to lake views - great for late afternoon and sunset walks!
You really can't go wrong with any flavors. Raspberry + mascarpone is a favorite.
Large antique mall-- very easy to get lost. If you go, be sure to find the huge book collection on the far left wall. The seller is an interesting guy and worth talking to if you can catch him. Right across from the books, you'll find Huckle B's Vintage, run by Kenady's sister Jadera.
Only open until they sell out, which is usually pretty fast. Worth the long lines!
Great coffee and cocktails! Often you can find live music in the evenings on the patio.
