Kariza and Nathan met at Chamberlain High School through the youth group at Forest Hills United Methodist Church. Nathan would walk Kariza home after school even before they started dating (which was completely out of the way to his house) just to spend additional time with her. They started dating late 2009 to 2011 for about 2 years until Nathan shipped out for the Marine Corps. After serving close to 5 years, Nathan got out and shortly after was the best man in his brothers wedding. Coincidently, Kariza was the maid of honor in the exact same wedding. Nathan being the cringey romantic he is, sent Kariza flowers from a secret admirer with a note that said " I would never let you fall unless we fell together". He decided to work that exact quote into his speech at the wedding in an attempt to rekindle his relationship with his high school sweetheart. Kariza was still uninterested in speaking with Nathan as she had already moved forward with her life. Nathan continued to reach for her attention by getting her best friend to invite her to a movie which was about grocery store items doing dirty things which if you know Kariza was a very poor choice in a movie to watch with her. Finally in October of 2016, Nathan got Kariza to go to Hall-o-scream which threw her literally into his arms out of terror. Nathan's big brained maneuvering and suave attitude helped him finally convince Kariza to give him another chance to show her he is still willing to walk her home and keep her safe. It was always her.
