Off the beaten path, nestled in an alcove of the ever winding San Antonio River Walk, you’ll find a waterfall. Soft morning light peeked through the greenery and danced on the water. It was there on the morning of Saturday, April 20, 2024 that Nathan Torres took to one knee and asked Kari Kimball to share a lifetime together. Cinematically, a river boat passed and cheered as they embraced! Pure bliss stopped time. The couple excitedly returned to the hotel to call their families and share the news with their travel companions. It was a San Antonio Fiesta for the books!
About two months before the San Antonio proposal, we spent a romantic, misty weekend in the artsy town of Wimberley, TX in celebration of Nathan’s birthday. We rented a cabin tucked away on a hill. At first light, we sipped our morning coffee from the steamy jacuzzi and watched a pair of playful grey foxes leap across the property. Our day was spent on the quaint town square filled with local art and chatty shop keepers. We wandered down to the ethereal Cypress Creek Nature Preserve. We admired in awe the beauty of the Cypress trees and vibrant creek water on this grey winter day. The journey back to the cabin included crossing a water-covered damn and a winding, one lane caliche road. Despite wet firewood and many failed attempts, we triumphantly built a bon fire together and roasted s’mores as the sun sank lower. That weekend, we talked about our dreams and a vision of forever together. After months of considering options for our wedding day, we decided that Wimberley is where we want to spend our first days of marriage together.
Our future together has us starry-eyed! We have dreams of becoming homeowners and growing our own little family. Now that we finally found our person, we don't want to postpone our most precious life goals another second! Although we are privately eloping, we have a dream to host a reception for our family and dearest friends in our own backyard. To celebrate our shared life in *our* home with you would bring us tremendous amount of pride and joy. It's a beautiful thought that the memory of this celebration would live on for as long as we remained in our house. We are slowly chipping away at our goal of becoming homeowners. Although it is not expected, we wanted to share our cash fund information with you in case you are feeling generous. You can find additional information on our "Registry" page. Another way you can be a part of our wedding day is to participate in our “Letters of Love” project. All you have to do is send us a letter in the mail by May 1st, so we can make sure it arrives well before we pack our bags for Wimberley. Please see our FAQ page for the full details!
