Jamie and Nathan's date to Robin Hill Farm, captured through the lenses of Murd Media.

Our Love Story

Jamie and Nathan first crossed paths in 2017 through Snapchat, exchanging the occasional message, but their connection didn’t go beyond that until February 2020. One day, Jamie decided to send a Snapchat, a Snapchat that would later be proven to be life altering. They hit it off right away, talking about everything from their favorite music to their life goals. Over time, their chats became more personal, and Jamie found herself thinking about Nathan more and more. Sparks were flying. Their first date came not long after, at Rita’s in Charlotte Hall. Nathan and Jamie enjoyed their Italian ice in Nathan's truck, listening to their favorite music. It was a perfect first date, full of laughs, and an unexpected moment when Nathan realized he had forgotten to tell his mom he was on a date. They both laughed it off, making it clear that they were comfortable with each other right from the start. The world shifted the next morning when Jamie and Nathan woke up to the news that schools were closing due to the pandemic. What followed was a series of uncertain days, but it also created a unique opportunity for them to grow closer. Their second date, at Bert’s Diner, was one of the last sit-down restaurant meals they’d have for a while. Soon, they were spending their days texting, FaceTiming, and sneaking around to visit each other whenever they could. Instead of drifting apart like many relationships during this time, Jamie and Nathan found their bond growing stronger. They began to cherish the small moments—late-night phone calls, movie marathons, and fishing trips. What made them different was that, despite the challenges, they focused on building a deeper connection. On March twenty 25th, 2020, Nathan asked Jamie to be his girlfriend, and of course she said yes! As 2021 rolled in, Jamie and Nathan faced new challenges. Jamie was heading to Frostburg State University to play softball, and Nathan was starting his job as a Steamfitter in the Local 602 Steamfitters. The distance between them was significant, but it never dampened their commitment to each other. Every weekend, they made time to visit, putting miles on their cars but cherishing every moment they had together. In Frostburg, they found joy in the simple things—shopping at Gabe’s, grabbing drinks at LG’s, and exploring local restaurants like the Toasted Goat. Even though they were separated by hours, their bond continued to grow as they spent weekends and summer breaks together, making up for the time apart. Long-distance was tough, but it made them better at communicating. Each night, they’d FaceTime to talk about their day, sharing the highs and lows, and keeping their connection strong. During softball season, Nathan was one of Jamie's biggest supporters, often spending many with Jamie's parents watching the games. One trip was rather special. On a drive to one of Jamie's games, Nathan nervously asked Jamie's parents for their blessing to marry their daughter. Of course, without any doubt, Jamie's parents said yes. After years of long-distance and growing together, Nathan planned a special proposal. On June 28, 2024, Jamie came home from work to find their apartment transformed into a proposal paradise—soft music, a rose petal pathway, candles, and balloons leading to a sign that read “Marry Me.” Nathan, waiting on one knee, asked Jamie to be his forever. With tears in her eyes, Jamie said yes, marking the beginning of the next chapter in their journey together. Now, as they prepare for their wedding on October 18, 2025, Jamie and Nathan are more excited than ever to start this new chapter. Their love has weathered the storms of a pandemic, long-distance challenges, and the uncertainty of life after high school. But through it all, they’ve only grown closer. Together, with their cat Meowmeow, they’re ready to take on whatever the future holds, knowing that they’ve built a love that’s strong enough to last a lifetime.
