Matt and Nate met Freshman year at Rockhurst High School and have been friends ever since! After Matt graduated from the University of Dayton, he and Nate moved to Quality Hill in downtown Kansas City where they lived together for 18 months. They still meet up nearly every Tuesday where Nate plans the meal, Matt cooks the meal, and then they watch whichever prestige TV show they are currently binging. Greta calls this "boy time".

Maddie and Greta met as freshmen at Mizzou studying vocal music education, and they have been attached at the hip ever since! Greta took Maddie to her first Mass freshman year of college, and senior year Maddie made the decision to become Catholic. One of the proudest moments of Greta's life was becoming Maddie's godmother and confirmation sponsor on Easter Vigil. After graduating, the two passed a memorable year being next-door neighbors and teaching elementary music together. Despite very busy lives, Greta and Maddie still talk all the time!

What can be said of Danielle? She's Nathan's little sister. His favorite sister. His most despised sister. His only sister. Some would call her self-assured. Nathan would call her self-righteous. Some would call her driven and inspiring. Nathan would call her annoying and abrasive. The reality is Nathan would not want to have anyone else as his little sister. She is driven and intelligent, a combination that makes her as indispensable to her job as it does to her friends and family. There are a lot of words Nathan could use to describe his sister (some perhaps unseemly for a wedding website), but the one that stands out the most is proud. As much as Greta is looking forward to gaining a new sister-in-law, Nathan will be equally excited just to have Danielle up there on the altar with him on November 7th.

Sammy and Nate met via mutual friend Luke Eaton in March 2018. A planned night out at the famed Penguin dueling piano bar in downtown Columbia, MO let the future 3 roommates take the temperature of the other to determine if they were suitable to share an East Campus apartment with. Needless to say things went swimmingly and they were roommates for the final 3 years at Mizzou. Sammy introduced Nate to the sport of disc golf and in return Nate introduced Sammy to Kadie! Though Sammy and Nate haven't lived in the same time zone for the last 5 years, they've always met up during holidays and vacation. Sammy earned his Doctorate in Chemical Engineering in December from the University of Virginia.

Oliver and Nathan also met Freshman year at Rockhurst High School and quickly bonded over their shared love of baseball and the Kansas City Royals. Nathan decided to follow in Oliver's footsteps and join the choir Sophomore year which proved to be fortuitous in non-musical ways as well! Through his various musical escapades, Oliver knew Greta many years before she met Nathan. After 3 years of running track (and some persuasion from Oliver), Nathan swapped his spikes for the stage where he met his bride-to-be during the musical Big Fish! Oliver, Nathan, and Danielle took a trip to Ireland in 2024 where they developed a love for Guinness. Oliver and Nathan still catch many a Royals game in the summer and a creamy pint of "the black stuff" when they get the chance!

Greta and Jordan met when she started dating Matt, Nate's good friend from high school, and they hit it off right away! They share a love for reading, teaching, and group athletic activities; they have also started a tradition that, whenever both of their schools have a snow day, they get together and watch Little Women (Greta Gerwig, 2019).
