Nathan and Emma met at the Walla Walla University’s “Welcome Back Bash” in 2018. He attempted to convince her to join the drama club, but she declined. Emma, being new to college, thought that she would never see Nathan again. The very next day, as she walked into her acting class, to discover that Nathan was her TA. Later on, Nathan cast Emma in a short production and they became fast friends. Their love story didn’t start until later. After playing husband and wife in multiple shows, Nathan and Emma took the hint and began dating in early 2020. Weeks into their relationship, they were sadly separated due to the pandemic. Through hard work (and lots of FaceTime dates) they continued dating long distance. When Nathan was allowed to return to campus, he would often drive 6 hours to visit Emma in her hometown. Finally, Emma was permitted to return to campus, and together they drove from Eugene, OR to Walla Walla, WA to officially date in person. The next year, the roles were reversed. While Emma was finishing her undergraduate degree, Nathan moved to Emma’s hometown to work as a graphic designer. She would visit whenever possible. Nathan would also visit Walla Walla, occasionally accompanied by his future in-laws. After graduation, they moved to Loma Linda, CA (Nathan’s hometown) so that Emma could continue her education. Nathan popped the question on July 20th 2023. Emma was lounging on the couch and Nathan handed her a suspicious envelope. He asked her to wait five minutes, and then open it, while he ran an errand. Emma was absolutely clueless. She opened the letter and found a clue to a scavenger hunt. Nathan hid love letters all around their apartment with shared memories of their relationship. The scavenger hunt led to a garden that they would walk to in the evenings, where Nathan was waiting in a suit. Emma was still absolutely clueless. When he got down on one knee, Emma finally began to get the picture. She immediately burst into tears and said YES. Nathan and Emma thank each and every one of you for being a part of their love.
