Nate and Clare first met in Fremont, Ohio at a wedding where Clare, who is from Wisconsin, was attending as a plus one for her sister-in-law. Nate, who is from Ohio, was there with friends after plans to attend a midget wrestling event unexpectedly turned into an invitation to the wedding after-party through a mutual friend who also knew Clare. Funny enough, neither of them were originally supposed to be in Fremont that weekend. At the after-party, Clare’s sister-in-law encouraged her to go introduce herself to Nate. The two started talking and instantly hit it off. After the wedding, they talked every day. Just a few weeks later, they met halfway between Wisconsin and Ohio for their first date. From that point on, they made the drive to see each other whenever they could, never going more than a few weeks apart.
