Dahlonega is a great place for a weekend getaway - we hope you will make a fun trip out of it! Below are some recommendations for places to check out while you are in the area. There's also an endless list of activities if you plan to spend time in Atlanta before making your way to the mountains.

Amicalola Falls State Park

Amicalola Falls is a must do while you’re in Dahlonega! Burn off all that wine and cheese by hiking up 604 steps to the top of the highest waterfall in Georgia. This is an activity we did together when we first visited the area back in 2019.

We love this Irish Pub near downtown Dahlonega. Afterall, we went to an Irish Pub on our first date and look how well that turned out. Let us know if you can find the dollar we hung on the wall here.

Spirits Tavern

19 East Main Street, Dahlonega, GA 30533

Located directly across the street from the Holiday Inn Express, Spirits Tavern is a great place for a cocktail and a bite to eat. We highly recommend making a reservation if you are planning to eat here - they book up quickly. Honestly, that goes for anywhere in Dahlonega Square.

Public House Kitchen & Cocktails

1108 North Grove Street, Dahlonega, GA 30533

Try this spot a mile off the square for brunch or dinner if you are having trouble getting a table in the Square. October is Dahlonega's busiest month!

Wolf Mountain Vineyards

180 Wolf Mountain Trail, Dahlonega, GA 30533

If you want to explore additional wineries in the area, we hear Wolf Mountain Vineyards is a close second behind our favorite.
