Our story begins our freshman year of college at Andrews University. Nathan was sitting with his friends in the cafeteria and Bianca showed up with both of her parents (she was the only student on campus walking around with her parents) making it easy for Nathan & his friends to make fun of her. It wasn’t love at first sight for Bianca, after seeing him a couple of times driving his 96 red convertible Mustang around campus with his hat backwards, she was convinced he was a stuck-up “gringo”. Thanks to mutual friends, our paths began to cross a little more often leading us to the track field on a starry night, where the feelings for each other took a turn. Bianca later came to confess that she had to get over her initial judgment because she liked going to Walmart and he was the only friend with a car! It wasn’t until spring break our sophomore year that Nathan finally decided to make his move. Nathan went home to Ohio and Bianca stayed on campus working. Nathan woke up early, got a bouquet of flowers, and drove back 3 hours to surprise Bianca after work. He was super nervous and shy (this explains why Bianca thought he was stuck up) On March 19, 2019, after a walk by the river, Nathan asked Bianca (with a shaky voice) to be his girlfriend on a Meier Hall couch. After an awkward 0.5-second kiss, Bianca rushed back to the dorm and called home to wish her dad a happy Father’s Day and tell him she’d met her future husband. Nathan drove back home that same night, why you may be asking? He told his parents he needed to go back to Andrews to pick up a math book he had forgotten to work on some homework during break… After that starry night on the field, we officially began our journey as best buds, and a few months later, girlfriend and boyfriend, and a few years later, that starry night led us to now.
It was a cloudy Sunday morning in Roatan, we were dreaming of where to put our first home on our newly purchased land. In the middle of dreaming and joking that this was probably not going to become a reality until a few years later, Nathan got on one knee, took out the most beautiful ring, and said “Do you wanna start now? Bud, will you marry me?” We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. Get your passports ready, see you in Roatan!
