For us, however, it was the year that our love story began. It was the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in the first few weeks of May. Many states had been shutdown since March, and it did not look like most places were going to open up anytime soon. People were constantly checking their local authorities' websites for some direction on how to continue living life without unnecessary exposure to an unknown disease. Needless to say trying to meet the love of your life was a more difficult task given the circumstances. Most people had turned to dating apps, and we were no exception. Hinge was the dating app we were both trying at the time. Instead of just swiping right or left based on how people looked, it allowed you to answer questions that let you match with people who you have a lot in common with.
