It all started on a Sunday evening in early December, four years ago, at a little bar in Venice named Roosterfish. They were two complete strangers who kept catching each other’s eyes across the bar; not once, not twice, but three times. According to Wallace, that third glance was destiny. He couldn’t resist any longer, and mid-conversation with his friend, he decided to make a move. He came over, introduced himself, and bold as ever, asked what she was doing next Friday. Nathaly replied to him “nothing,” but quickly added that "I usually don’t go on dates on Fridays because, I like to hangout with my friends and have a good time." Without missing a beat, he smirked and said, “Let me worry about that. Just say yes.” After a minute of playful hesitation, she did. Then, radio silence for three days... Just when she thought he’d vanished, she received a text from him confirming the date! That Friday, Wallace drove all the way out from Venice to Studio City. For those not aware, traffic on a Friday in LA is the absolute worst. Fashionably, Nathaly was an hour late, while Wallace waited patiently outside. Nathaly remembers thinking, “Well, this guy will definitely never want to see me again.” Spoiler: She was wrong. That “one date” turned into three dates in one night, and we haven’t stopped since. There was a little reluctancy at first, but something about it just clicked. Being together felt effortless, like home. We could unapologetically be ourselves, annoy each other just enough to keep things interesting, laugh endlessly, and never run out of things to talk about (mainly Nathaly).
