Sofia Airport

We recommend taking the Sofia Metro. It's very convenient and it takes you straight to the center of the city! From Sofia Airport take the BLUE line towards Sofia City Center and get off at “Serdica”. That's the stop closest to our church and restaurant and if you picked one of the hotels we recommended this would also be the most convenient.

Taxi Cab Info

AT THE AIRPORT PLEASE go to "OK Supertrans" TAXI information desk right before you exit and they will order you a cab! Do not catch a cab outside as they might over charge tourists. Nous vous recommandons de prendre le métro de Sofia. Il est très pratique et vous amènera directement dans le centre ville. A l’aéroport de Sofia, prenez la ligne bleue en direction du centre ville et descendez à la station «Serdica ». C’est la station la plus proche de l’église, du restaurant et des hôtels recommandés. Si vous optez pour prendre un taxi. Veuillez faire attention car en général à l'aéroport, ils surchargent les touristes.

The metro trains operate from 5am to midnight. Single ride ticket price is 1.60 levs (0.82 EUR). The ticket is valid for the entire metro network so you can use the same ticket for transfer to M1. Tickets can be purchased from the cashier desks in the metro station or from ticket machines.

What is the currency in Bulgaria?

The Bulgarian Currency is LEV (LEVA in plural). In Bulgaria, many of the big hotels and restaurants take credit cards. But for smaller establishments and public transportation/ taxi you will need to have cash in LEVA. We recommend exchanging at your local bank before you travel or at the airport in Sofia in order to catch a cab or take the train to the city. In Sofia City Center we recommend exchanging at a Bank.
