It all started in 6th grade. Bri would tell you... her first memory of Nate is of him sitting next to her in homeroom, practically eating her entire bag of Combos during study hall. Practicing forgiveness early, she befriended this class clown, and before long, they really started to like each other. Nate eventually asked Bri out—but she heartbreakingly said no. They drifted apart—until the first day of 8th grade, when, as if by design, they found themselves seated side by side once again. After rekindling their friendship, countless FaceTime calls, awkward early dates, and even a little homework help (yes, Bri did Nate’s keyboarding assignments), Nate once again asked her out—this time at their lockers on April 9th, 2018. Nate would tell you...he barely remembers any of that. Since the moment they began dating, Nate and Bri have grown through many seasons of life—side by side and with God at the center. From teenage milestones to early adulthood, their relationship has been shaped by deep friendship, lots of laughter, and an ongoing desire to love one another well. Through the highs and lows, they’ve seen how time, learning, and grace can grow something steady and beautiful. Bri would tell you she’s grateful for... Nate’s patience, servant heart, and the way he brings light and laughter into every situation. His kindness runs deep, and his adventurous nature keeps life full of excitement and wonder. She’s especially thankful for the many years they’ve had to grow together—in love, in life, and in faith—and for the way Nate has consistently reflected God’s love to her through his actions, his character, and his selfless care. Nate would tell you he is grateful for... Bri’s joy, selflessness and guidance towards Christ-like living. She continues to remind him of Christ’s gentleness and kindness by the way she interacts with those around her. He has been privileged to watch her grow in confidence in her gifts and use them to further the Kingdom. He is excited to continue to pursue Jesus alongside someone whom God has blessed him with. After years of memories and milestones together, Nate asked Bri to marry him on July 7th, 2024—marking the beginning of their next and most exciting chapter yet. Bri would tell you... it was a day perfectly crafted with love—filled with all her favorite things and ending with one of the greatest gifts she’s ever received: the chance to marry the man she’s loved for so long. (Though, let’s be honest... the gorgeous ring is a very close second.) More than anything, she’s deeply grateful to spend forever with a man whose character, heart, and faith continue to inspire her every single day. Nate would tell you... he was about to puke. He remembers calling his spiritual companion (thanks Eric) and telling him he had no idea how he was going to be able to pull it off. After a couple of self pep talks in the bathroom, he finally mustered the courage to get down on one knee. The rest was a blur. He must have said something convincing because she supposedly said yes! He wasn’t going to question her decision, and if he has learned anything, she is always right. Now, as they prepare to step into this next chapter of their lives, Nate and Bri are filled with anticipation and gratitude. Nate and Bri would both tell you... they’re incredibly grateful for the role you’ve played in their lives—whether as a family member, friend, mentor, or constant source of support. You’ve impacted them deeply, both as individuals and as a couple, and they can’t wait to celebrate their love with the people who’ve helped shape it. June 27th can't come fast enough!
