Our Story

First kiss at thirteen, forever kiss to come.

Nathaniel and Vivian’s love story began long before either of them could imagine it would become the greatest adventure of their lives. Back in 7th grade at Dodd Middle School, two shy teenagers crossed paths and shared a brief chapter of young romance. That spring, they both attended their mutual friend, Stephanie Villecco’s, 13th birthday party. Between laughter, music, and the carefree magic of being thirteen, something unforgettable happened—they shared their very first kiss. It was sweet, simple, and innocent, the kind of moment that tucks itself quietly into your heart, waiting to be rediscovered. Shortly after, middle school life carried them in different directions, and their short-lived puppy love faded into a cherished memory. Years passed, and both Nate and Viv attended Cheshire High School. At the end of junior year, Viv was newly single, and Nate found himself still drawn to the girl he met in middle school—the blonde with the boots and southern charm - the only cowgirl in Connecticut. Nates chase led to a turning point on September 12, 2015, when Viv finally agreed to a movie date with Nate. They went to see The Visit, a horror film that ended up being both their first and last of the genre together. (Nate swears he just enjoyed having an excuse to be close to her.) From that day forward, their bond deepened quickly. Senior year was filled with shared adventures—Friday night games, hanging out with friends, and countless afternoons where Viv tutored Nate in math. The irony of those sessions isn’t lost on them now that Nate is an engineer. Somewhere between problem sets and popcorn, friendship quietly transformed into love. After graduation in 2016, life once again carried them onto separate paths. Viv headed south to the University of Alabama, while Nate settled into college life in Springfield, Massachusetts . They stayed in touch as friends but didn’t expect long distance to work in their favor. That changed late in their freshman fall semester when Viv mentioned she had her sorority formal coming up and, half-jokingly, told Nate she needed a date. Four days later, to her complete surprise, Nate was standing in Tuscaloosa. Over the years that followed, their love only grew stronger. Nate visited Viv in Alabama as often as he could. They traveled to Texas to see her family, explored Costa Rica during her study abroad semester in 2018, and soaked up the beauty of the Dominican Republic, Italy, Canada, and fifteen U.S. states together. Each trip became a treasure trove of inside jokes, photographs, and moments they’d talk about for years. They navigated long distance with weekend reunions, road trips, and late-night phone calls that lasted until the sun came up. Eventually, life brought them both back to Connecticut, ready for their next chapter. They moved into an apartment together while searching for a home in one of the toughest housing markets in the country. Patience and persistence paid off, and in October 2024, they found their perfect house in Middlefield, the perfect little country town. With tools in hand and country music playing in the background, they renovated it together, filling every corner with love. And now, as they prepare to say “I do,” Nathaniel and Vivian can look back and see how every twist, turn, and leap of faith brought them here. From a shy middle school kiss to late-night math tutoring, from surprise visits across state lines to passport stamps scattered across the globe, their love story has been one of patience, adventure, and unwavering commitment. Soon, they will gather with their closest family and friends to celebrate not only their wedding, but the beautiful journey that led them here—a story still being written, with countless chapters yet to come. But just like that first kiss, the best moments are still ahead.
