Matron of Honor
I have known Emma since the seventh grade. I know that it sounds super cliche, but from the moment I met Emma, I knew she was going to be my forever friend. We have countless memories that we have made over the past ten years, and after tons of sleepovers, coffee dates, car rides, and pool days, I know that I can count on Emma for basically anything. Emma has always been a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on, giving out the best advice and pointing me back to Christ. It was an absolute joy to stand by Emma on her wedding day, and I can’t wait for her to be a part of our big day. I can’t wait to see what the next decade holds for our friendship.
Best Man
Seth grew up with us but has been one of my best friends since we were friends in high school. I have almost been killed in his truck countless times, yet I would not change those rides for anything. I can always count on Seth for a laugh, a sarcastic comment, or an “Office” quote. Though he lives in North Dakota now, we can always pick up where we left off without missing a beat. I love this guy and am honored to have him as my best man!
Maid of Honor
Kennedy is my one and only little sister. Looking back at old pictures, she and I were attached at the hip, always having the best time together. Everyone who knows us knows Kennedy and I are total opposites. But despite this, we have always got along, and almost never fought our whole lives. Kennedy is a feisty competitor with a kind heart who is protective of the ones she loves. I am so proud of her and to be her sister.
Groomsman
The picture of Zak here is a pretty accurate summary of him. Zak is my younger brother. He is the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back. He also is in the Akre family competition for the most stubborn person, alongside me and our dad. His biggest flaw is he is an Ohio State fan, but we love him anyway. Though we used to bud heads when we were younger, I couldn’t ask for a better little brother.
Bridesmaid
Mere and I met through our mutual friend Faith at a church event, but we didn't really become friends until years later. Once we reconnected we clicked instantly. Everyone always says how completely different Mere and I are, but sometimes that is what makes the friendship work. We build off of each others strengths and have learned a great deal from one another weaknesses. We've had a lot of ups and downs but Mere has proven to be one of the most loyal people to call a friend.
Groomsman
Mitch has been one of my best friends for the past 8 years though he claims he remembers the day I was born. Him and I have had many titles over the years, such as friend, teammate, ministry partners, KanJam partners, colleagues, and coaches (just to name a few). The job that takes up most of my time is making sure he doesn’t get too big of a head. In all seriousness, I could not imagine where I would be now without Mitch. He is constantly pushing me to be more like Jesus and is willing to go the extra mile for the ones he loves.
Bridesmaid
For most of the time I have known Liv, she was was always just my best friends little sister. But over the years as I started to know her, she has become way more; one of my best friends. Generous, bubbly, patient and kind, she knows how to make everyone in the room welcomed and comfortable. We always have the best times when we are together, and I am very blessed to not only have her as a part of my wedding day, but as a friend for life too.
Groomsman
My memories with Jake begin when we were in middle school, going to West Lisbon Church to shoot baskets or terrorizing his sister by tying her to a hay rack with a ski rope (good times). Flash forward many years, insults, and trips to Culvers later, we are still brothers to this day. I am grateful for the thoughtful conversations we cultivate, ridiculous stories we share, and even the numerous smacks on the chest I have received from driving with him.
Bridesmaid
Faith and I met on a missions trip in 2015 and I remember being instantly drawn to her fun, giggly personality. Her fire and desire to serve others around her and her ability to be a friend to all was something I have always admired about Faith. We have been roommates this past semester, and I could not have imagined a better roommate for my last semester of college. Singing our hearts out in the car, me third-wheeling her dates with Ben, shopping, game nights and "doing" homework together have been some of my favorite memories. She continues to challenge me to come out of my comfort zone and have a good laugh when life is tough. I'm so proud to have her as a sister and friend.
Groomsman
I met Conner when we sat next to each other in Spanish 1 freshman year of high school. However, I did not KNOW Conner until we graduated high school. We spend most of the summer after senior year together with Taylor and Emma (who is now his wife). From that point on, we have been there for each other's highs and lows. He is always up for cards or a run to Chick-Fil-A, and I can always rely on him to be there when it counts the most.
Bridesmaid
Allie is my built in cousin/best friend. Our parents might have forced us to hang out when we were younger, but as we got older we grew very close and would see each other whenever we could. Allie has always been the spontaneous and wild side to my quiet more reserved self. We have learned a lot from each other, and still continue to do so. I have the most hilarious memories with this girl, more then I probably do with anyone else. It has been such a joy to see her step into the roles of wife and now mom of almost two girls. Allie has such an empathetic heart and a fire for Jesus that is just contagious to everyone around her. I love doing life with her, and can't wait for more memories to come.
Groomsman
Eli Williamson is one of the most loyal people I have ever met. He cares deeply for those who have the honor of being his friend. Eli and I started out as enemies back in grade school because I had too much energy, and he wasn’t having it. In high school, our circles crossed, and I am thankful they did. We ended up driving together to college together with Jake my entire first semester of college, jamming to “Don’t Stop Me Now”, “The Highwayman”, and/or “Hooked On a Feeling” almost everyday. I love this guy and am ecstatic to have him in our wedding!
