The Kabbalat Panim includes two pre-ceremony traditions – the Tisch and the Bedeken. The Bedeken (Hebrew word for “veiling”) is a moment just before the ceremony when Nate will veil Sara. Before the veiling, Sara will gather with her loved ones for blessings and well-wishes. The Tisch (literally “table” in Yiddish) is a pre-wedding gathering, held by the groom. It’s a fun and meaningful celebration where Nate will share words of torah and well-wishes. Please join us for these pre-wedding ceremonies. Drinks and lite snacks will be served. While these traditions are traditionally separated by gender, we encourage you to move freely between both sides of the room. Nate and Sara will be separate but all guests are more than welcome to visit both sides.

The Chuppah is the canopy where we will stand during the wedding ceremony. It symbolizes the home we will build together and represents openness and protection. Traditionally, it is open on all sides to welcome friends and family into the couple’s new life together.
