When Seminarian Thomas Martin and Deacon Jacob Miller were discussing life, they noticed a similar predicament. Thomas had a single friend named Nate, and Deacon Miller had a single friend named Mary. What followed was a blind date (after only seeing Nate's old Facebook fish photo...she really trusted Deacon Miller), and a few more dates, until a chance encounter set them on love's trajectory. It was a Saturday morning when Mary received a call from her podcast guest that he got a flat tire. So, she glanced at the completely free day ahead of her and decided to venture to The National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Perryville, MO. The hour and a half road trip was filled with excitement and anticipation. Little did she know what was in store. After Mary arrived and parked at the Shrine, she saw a car similar to Nate's. 'No, it cannot be him,' she thought. Then, as she walked toward the Church, out walks Nate. Filled with shock and surprise, the duo spent the day together praying, talking and realizing their prayers were answered. They had both found their match. The Shrine is where Nate popped the question on March 15th, 2025. It will forever be a special place. Mary, Queen of Families, pray for us!
