Firetower Pizza
The highlight of our "Pizza and Brews, Before I Dos," this is a great local pizza joint. Makena spent two summers working here, falling in love with both Nate and the pizza. Fun fact: prior to this, Makena didn't really like pizza. Consider stopping in and trying out the couple's favorites! Makena's Recommendation: Spy Lake Pizza Nate's Recommendation: Forest Fire Pizza
Lemon Tree Brewery
The host of our "Pizza and Brews, Before I Dos," is a town hot spot. This family-friendly brewery is a great place for a quick sandwich and beverage. Fun fact: Nate worked here two summers!
King of the Frosties
A family friend owned ice cream shop in the middle of town. Featuring the best ice cream and sundaes available! Makena's Recommendation: Chocolate or Mint Moose Tracks Nate's Recommendation: Vanilla Moose Tracks with Hot Fudge
Inn At Speculator
The nicest atmosphere in town but prices are in line with other restaurants. Typical hours are 11:30-9, but Sundays they may close at 5.
Acorn Pub & Eatery
Casual sit down restaurant at Oak Mountain Ski area. Offers a variety of food and bar service. Check their hours because they frequently change.
The Village Social Diner
Hot new diner in town, just opened Spring of 2026. Variety of breakfast and lunch options. Open Mon-Sat, 6-2pm.
The PERKS of Speculator
Recommended for their BYO omelets and plate size pancakes, limited lunch menu but still a town favorite. They are often closed by 1 PM.
Mountain Market
Take Out - great for take out for a lakeside meal, picnic, or a bite on the go. This also serves as a convenience store. Look for the only gas station in town!
