When Nathan walked into Turkey Hill one fall night in 2011 after a long shift at his pizza shop job, he knew in his heart there was something special about the sweet, beautiful, dark-haired girl working behind the counter. After months of flirting and infatuation, he convinced Lupe to go ice-skating with him at a local rink, cleverly knowing that her inexperience on the ice would almost certainly lead to her holding his hand "for stability". After this, and many more dates, Lupe decided that this tall, lanky hippy had charmed her enough to become her first "real boyfriend". Lupe and Nathan went on to experience the challenges of college together, eventually both deciding to transfer to West Chester University together to finish their degrees and start their next phase of life together. Through the many ups and downs that life brings a young couple, Nathan and Lupe's love and commitment toward one another has continued to grow and prosper, and has led them to invite all of you to join them in committing their dedication for one another through the ceremony of marriage.
In early August of 2017, Nathan and Lupe decided to take a road trip through New England, into Canada. After two days on the road, sitting through terrible traffic, rainy weather, and high campsite prices on prospective destinations, they decided to abruptly change course in Portland, Maine, and head West to catch the total solar eclipse. Three days of relentless driving, podcast listening, and truckstop sleeping led them to a tranquil little section of western Nebraska known as Scott's Bluff, where they made it just in time to wake up in the morning, hike up to a viewing area, and experience the power and awe of a total solar eclipse with about 400 other people who traveled from all around. Little did Lupe know; Nathan picked up an engagement ring a few days before embarking on the road trip, and decided that the dramatic spectacle of a solar eclipse would be the perfect time to pop the big question. As the sky just began to light up again, she said "Yes!"
