Bridesmaid
*Soul Sister* I don't know where to start with Shireen who is not only my cousin, but one of my best friends since we came out of the womb. Although our family is huge, Shireen and I have always had a unique bond. We grew up together and always had the same hairstyle, wore each other's clothes, and found a reason to get our dads' to drive us to each other. So many memories binge-watching The OC, traveling with you and the family to Italy and Egypt, Maroon 5 concerts, and being troublemakers on ski trips. Because of this she knows me inside and out and can read my mind from across the world. Our childhood dream of marrying Adam Levine did not happen (although Nate is pretty close), but our legacy will never die!
Bridesmaid
*Sister from the Hoods of San Jo* Next to make an impact in my life is my bestie Ronnie who snuck up on me and managed to have all the same classes as me freshman year at Del Mar High School. I'm so glad she did because otherwise I wouldn't have had a sidekick to sneak off campus with for lunch every day, bumping Usher in her VW Passat. We cried our eyes out the day we both went off to college (she went to UC Santa Barbara and I went to UC San Diego, which honestly weren't even that far from each other). And although I let her get away with copying my homework every day of high school, I still love her for being my gangster San Jo white girl and one of the funniest chicks I have ever met (I have definitely peed my pants from laughter on a few occasions). Love ya boo.
Maid of Honor
*SoCal Sister* Shaudi is the first real friend I made when I moved to San Diego and her Persian family took me in as basically their adopted daughter. We lived in a room together (some of the best days of my life) and she introduced me to the Iranian world that exists in SoCal. We took day trips to LA to gorge ourselves on kabob and Akbar Masthi and one time she took me to a Kamran & Hooman concert where we not only ended up meeting them, but smoked hookah with them at the after-party (still the highlight of my life.) She is the reason I went to Grenada for Med school and am the person I am today. She has definitely seen me at my worst and deserves the title of Maid Of Honor for putting up with my shit! I know she will help me keep it together with endless laughter and mama bear hugs.
Bridesmaid
*New England Sister* I have basically known this lady for as long as I have known Nate and she has grown to be one of the most generous and genuine people in my life. She definitely gets it from her mama (shoutout Heidi) the way she always tells it exactly like it is and I love that about her. She is also a wicked awesome dog-mom that I hope to be very soon (shoutout Moose man!) and I couldn't have this Mashouf-Cavicchi mash-up wedding without her on my team! Thanks for moving to San Francisco so I was able to add another sister to my list and we so can forever take holiday Tahoe trips together. Love you <3
Bridesmaid
*West Indies Sister* Little did I know when I first moved to the island of Grenada that I would find my Taiwanese-American life soulmate. She is my sister from The Rock and we navigated the jungles, med school, and our new careers together. Thanks for stepping in as my makeshift boyfriend during my long-distance relationship with Nate. I will never forget our treacherous hikes through muddy jungles, driving to your house on my scooter in the middle of the usual downpour, and ditching the rest of our classmates to get dinner at Punjabi (we learned that THE greatest Indian restaurant is in Grenada). I'm so glad you followed me from the West Indies to the West Coast (San Jose = Gus's retirement community) and lived in a shoebox-sized studio apartment with me in Oakland.
Bridesmaid
*Siamese Sister* I thank the universe every day for my first ever sister-in-law who came into my life and made me the Crazy Cat Lady I am today. Having two Siamese cats herself (Ivan and Wolfgang), she was the one who instilled in me the desire to adopt my Siamese-Mix kitten Lulu (me and Nate's first child). Also, she is the reason I am now an auntie to Kai, who is the smartest, most handsome little toddler out there. From Day 1 she guided me through all this wedding stuff and I literally could not have figured it all out without her. Thanks for making (Mashouf) Orthodontics fun again and for always being down for tequila shots. <3
