Sara and Nate met in November 2015 when she became his personal training client at LA Fitness. When Sara signed up, she wondered what it would be like to spend so much 1:1 time with a guy, and hoped she wouldn't develop feelings. Pretty early on, she knew there was potential for trouble… Over 2.5 years of training, they became really good friends. They bonded over a love for Settlers of Catan, and had game nights with other gym friends. Training consisted of joking around, Nate dealing with Sara’s endless questions, spiritual conversations, and Sara getting her butt kicked. They both developed feelings for each other early on, and although they both were pretty certain of each other's feelings, they never told one another. Even though they liked each other, they were at different places in their walks with the Lord. So, for years, Sara prayed for Nate for to come to know the Lord. One day, Nate decided to come to church and from then, came on and off for about a year. Throughout that time, a lot of people were praying for Jesus to work in both of their hearts. Then, in May 2018, Sara quit training and Nate moved to a different gym. They continued to get together to go on walks or runs. At the end of the month, Nate told Sara he loved the Lord! The next day, he told Sara he liked her. Finally!! As the Lord was changing Nate’s heart, He was also teaching Sara to trust Him and to lay everything on Him. And, well, the rest is pretty much history. She was hesitant to date him, but it was so evident Nate loved the Lord. Nate has become one of the most servant-hearted men she knows and is so good at reminding Sara of the gospel (and being patient with her). They find joy in pursuing Jesus together, enjoying each other, and reveling at what the Lord has done in their hearts to make them both look more like Him! It’s a gift to get to do life together.
