Our story began...

Our love story began with a little girl and a little boy. Starting in Kindergarten way back in 1994. A time where neon windbreakers were all the rage. We became fast friends during that time. As kids we played house, not knowing we would grow up to live it out. The first time Nate showed that he really loved Megan was a day a 3rd grader pushed her down on the playground. Nate being the genuine guy he is punched him in the face. This altercation resulted in Nate loosing his glove and getting in trouble with his mom. Fast forward to fifth grade, Nate finally asked out Megan. The brief period lasted 24 hours because Megan moved to Oklahoma the next day. Many years pass and the two decided to talk on Facebook. One thing led to another and they found themselves on their first date. Not much had changed between them, they both laughed and felt like they were meant to be together. The rest is history.

How did he propose?

The story that kinda began the story

First thing anyone asks when they find out you are engaged, “How did he propose?” With a deep sigh I go back to that special moment...where I was completely off guard and unexpected of anything. For weeks we have been planning a very rustic, primitive camping trip. The kind of camping trip that makes most pleasure campers cringe. For three whole days we would be unplugged from the internet grid, totally deprived of electricity and water. Hiking some of the most challenging trails in Ohio with a 4 year old. Looking back we are either very ambitious or completely insane. Now mind you Hocking Hills is literally one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I have been to many places in my life from the Grand Canyon to the beaches of Florida. But this place took my breath away in its natural beauty. Hiking this beautiful place was amazing but with natural beauty comes many other unexpected issues...you know sweating and dirt... After an entire day of fun hiking and swimming we head back the 900 yards from the parking lot to our camp site. Excited to sit in our lawn chairs! Nate tells Celeste and I he forgot something in the car. So we start to make s’mores without him. He comes back about 45 minutes later, opens the tent and leaves it open. “Nate in or out of the tent you are letting the mosquitoes in!” I yell at him. He comes out and sits next to me and takes Celeste into his arms. “I need to make a plan with you. Would you like me to be your Dad forever?” Celeste being the smarty pants she is says, “You are my Dad.” He pulls out a ring and asks me “Will you marry me?” I was completely shocked and not expecting him to propose. Here I am sitting in my lawn chair, no makeup, no shower and probably looking the worse I ever had...yet here he is asking me flaws and all to marry him. Not just me but the little girl that loves him so much. Of course I said yes...and I thank God he put such a great man into our lives!
