We have made a list of some of the places we love to eat at and do while we are in Orono & Bangor. There are a lot of places to eat and drink, and in May, the trails will be great for hiking. Feel free to take a look online for other places like Bar Harbor, Blue Hill or Baxter St. Park.
Orono Brewing Company - Tasting Room & Kitchen
61 Margin Street, Orono, ME 04473, (207) 866-1272
This is our favorite brewery anywhere! The main building is a little out of the way, but the tasting room in downtown is also nice! Grab a growler to go, you'll need it!
Thai Kitchen
14 Park Street, Orono, ME 04473, (207) 866-0000
This is the best Thai food you will ever have! We used to eat here so much, the owners knew us and made special orders for us! (Honestly, if this is the only place you eat, it'll be worth it.)
Woodman's Bar & Grill
31 Main Street, Orono, ME 04473, (207) 866-4040
This restaurant and bar has great food for poor college kids and bougie eclectic pallets.
The Family Dog
6 Mill Street, Orono, ME 04473, (207) 866-2808
This place has great hot dogs, burgers, and shakes, but you aren't going to expect all the kinds of dogs you can have.
OHOP Orono House of Pizza
154 Park Street, Orono, ME 04473, (207) 866-5505
This pizza is awesome! Its good for both having a good time with some friends, and stuffing your face at 2 am after a little too much to drink.
Marsh Island Brewing
2 Main Street, Orono, ME 04473, (207) 866-1277
Like all the beer that is brewed in Orono and Bangor, this beer is amazing! I don't know of any beers here I don't like. The tasting room is a little small, so its a nice atmosphere to catch up with someone.
Burby And Bates Redemption Center
6 Mill Street, Orono, ME 04473, (207) 866-2533
Want a lot of cheap liquor, beer or wine? This place is calling your name! They sell everything from cheap beer to expensive whiskey and even kegs (Not that you can bring alcohol into the reception...)
Harvest Moon Deli
18 Mill Street, Orono, ME 04473, (207) 866-3354
Harvest Moon is a great deli to get fresh paninis and wraps. They aren't that expensive and have a lot of flavors.
Mount Hope Cemetery
1048 State Street, Bangor, ME 04401, (207) 945-6589
This is another great place to go for a walk.
Steven Kings House
47 West Broadway, Bangor, ME 04401
You know who you are if you like this stuff ;-)
Littlefield Garden
30 Rangley Rd., Orono, ME 04473
This a great little garden that's good for plant nuts and people who just wanna hang out in somewhere cool.
Bog Walk
Bog Walk, Orono, ME
This is a great place to go for a nice walk and is a different atmosphere than usual nature walks.
Canoe and Kayak Rental on the Stillwater
5 College Avenue, Orono, ME 04473, (207) 866-4921
This is located at the University Inn and Academic Suites. Just give them a call for details.
Collins Center for the Arts
2 Flagstaff Road, Orono, ME 04473
This is a generally small museum, but worth a visit!
Hollywood Casino Hotel & Raceway Bangor
500 Main Street, Bangor, ME 04401, (877) 779-7771
If you are into gambling, head to Hollywood Casino in downtown Bangor!
Bangor Dog Park
12 Watchmaker Street, Bangor, ME 04401
This is a great place to take your dog (or dogs) and you will probably find us there at least once or twice!
Sanctuary Spa & Wellness Center
291 Main Street, Orono, ME 04473, (207) 866-3333
We have not been here yet, but might be trying it out this fall.
DeMeritt Hiking Trails
Hilltop Road, Orono, ME 04473, (207) 581-1082
These trails range from paved bike paths to little more than footpaths. There is a lot to see and you can go for a small loop or a ten-mile hike. They are also dog friendly!
