We're getting married!

They met in the Provo Missionary Training Center, and were the only missionaries going to Malaga Spain. They didn't like each other very much...Natawni thought Rhett was "cocky", and Rhett thought Natawni was "old", but over the six weeks there, they became friends. They saw each other every now and then through out their missions, but they always described it as "seeing a cousin" or a "best friend". It wasn't until Natawni came home six months before Rhett, that they started writing each other. When Rhett got home in September, they started hanging out as friends and realized that they had developed feelings for each other. They started dating shortly after.

Natawni and Rhett had just flown back to Arizona after spending time with her family in Missouri. They drove up to the Layton's family cabin and played games with to pass time until the new year. At 11:53, Rhett asked Natawni to go grab his phone charger with him from their car. Little did she know it was all a ploy. He dropped to one knee on the front porch at 11:55 and asked Natawni to marry him in Spanish. They shared a quick kiss before midnight and celebrated the New Year with his family. It was absolutely perfect.
