We're getting married!

The couple met at Derrick's place of employment. Natasha was smitten by his personality. To their surprise they shared a mutual friend and that friend help set up their first date in November 2017. Their first date was at Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant.

Derrick and Natasha got engaged on a 7-day Alaskan cruise. With the assistance of the Natasha's best friend Chanda, Derrick planned the engagement over several months. Derrick popped the question on the third night during an intimate dinner with their travel companions Bishop and Chanda. With the help of the staff at the restaurant, the ring was brought out to the table as part of the dessert in an encased glass container typically used for smoked oysters. Natasha was surprised and there were happy tears of joy from both the future bride and groom!
