Herb and I were introduced by his friend. Our story began on the telephone with very brief conversations. Herb had a way of making me laugh. After a few weeks of talking, we decided to meet in person. Our first date was at a casual restaurant in Midland. As I entered the restaurant, I could not believe the handsome man in front of me. At first there was a long pause and Herb did not move, smile or greet me in any manner. I thought, “maybe he is not interested in me, and I should turn and walk away!” Then he got up and confronted me for being five minutes late. He later says he was mesmerized by my beauty and that is what caused his pause. We spent the entire day together, in fact we felt so connected that he asked me to meet his mom on the first date. We quickly realized that we have a lot in common, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Well, there was one time Herb almost lost me (lol), it was our second date, and what was supposed to be a night of fun and bowling turned into a Friday Night Lights rival between Lee and Permian (I went to Lee and played the violin, he went to Permian and played football). Dare say I was overmatched, Herb did everything in his power to crush and defeat me by bowling continued strikes with a near perfect score. I was a little bothered and didn't feel this was anyway to treat a lady on a second date, however he redeemed himself by cooking for me. Herb and I continue to have a lot of fun together! We both share a love for candy, movies, basketball, and I watch football with him - sometimes. It’s great to find that person that you enjoy spending time with, but his Christian walk, support, encouragement, and being there for me and Empress is unmeasurable. Herb and I are excited to start our new life together as a married couple!”
