Things To Do

Hersheypark

Hersheypark

100 Hersheypark Dr, Hershey, PA 17033

We love amusement parks and Hersheypark is a great one for adults and children alike! We celebrated our 11-year anniversary here with several roller coasters, a delicious chocolate martini, and a lovely ride on the monorail. It's definitely worth a visit if you haven't ever been! As a plus, it's only about 15 minutes from our venue!

Frecon Farms

Frecon Farms

501 South Reading Avenue, Boyertown, PA 19512

Eric and I love cider! We first dove into the world of cider tasting with a tour of Angry Orchard's farm in upstate New York. It was phenomenal and we highly recommend it to anyone who loves cider. We stumbled upon this very tiny farmer's market with quite a range of ciders last fall when we moved to the area and love it! If it's along your way and you like cider, it might be worth checking out.

Phoenixville

Phoenixville

Phoenixville, PA 19460

When we first moved to Malvern, we mourned the loss of our favorite Bucks County spots. New Hope and Yardley were two towns in particular we loved strolling through. Discovering that the artsy downtown area of Phoenixville was only ten minutes away filled a tiny bit of that small-town void. We've checked out so many restaurants in Phoenixville, walked along the Schuykill Bike Trail, and checked out it's small game store and book store on many occasions. If you like small, artsy towns, it's worth checking out!

Valley Forge National Historic Park

Valley Forge National Historic Park

101 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940

We love nature walks. We call them hikes, but they're really strolls. The first thing we do when we move to a new area is explore many of the local parks. Valley Forge is one such park full of history and endless trails and paths. It's also the spot where Eric officially proposed--right under one of it's covered bridges!

Philadelphia's Magic Gardens

Philadelphia's Magic Gardens

1020 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147

Back when we were in college and spending our weekends at Swarthmore, we drove into Philly on a weekly basis to visit a game store and play Magic the Gathering. Occasionally, we would also do some sightseeing. On one such visit, we came to the Magic Gardens. It's a tiny museum covered in mosaic walls and walkways. If you plan to explore Philly, enjoy art, and have an hour to spare, it's worth a visit if only to let yourself get lost in the endless rows of art!

Longwood Gardens

Longwood Gardens

1001 Longwood Road, Kennett Square, PA 19348

Longwood Gardens is quite a hike from Grantville, but such a beautiful place to get lost in nature. We went back in December of 2021, during our first year living in PA and were blown away by their Christmas displays. It's beautiful at all times of years, though, and certainly worth the visit if you're in the area!
