In The Beginning

Her Eyes...His Eyes

HER EYES One Sunday I met Adlai. We exchanged numbers, had a light hearted chat, a few giggles, I went home, he went back to Chicago. THE END, or so I thought. He called me periodically, then more frequently. He got my attention when he shared what was on his mind. “From the first day I met you God impressed on my mind you would make me love again and be my wife.” My prayer was that God would reveal to me who my husband should be. It was unsettling because God didn’t reveal to me what he did to Adlai. I shared this with my mom who advised me to keep praying. Days later, mom shared a dream she had. This is not unusual. In the past God had revealed many things to her and they all came to fruition. Mom mentioned specific events and dates that would occur in Adlai’s life! I said nothing to him and waited to see if these events would happen. They did! Still uncertain, I continued praying. The more I interacted with Adlai, the more he displayed qualities I was praying for. Reflecting on our relationship and the past events it dawned on me that the answer to my prayers was right in front of my eyes. I am convinced that God brought me to Adlai as he brought Eve to Adam in the beginning! HIS EYES I went to visit a friend in Georgia. While there I met a Georgia peach. She was a beauty. Urging! Burning! Something strange was happening. I got the feeling this lady would help me love again and be my wife. I couldn’t explain it. It was scary, so I did what I knew best: I prayed. Natasha and I spoke occasionally, then eventually more frequently. I got the notion she liked me but wasn’t sure how much. After some time I shared with her what was in my heart. At first she doubted - I kept praying. A sequence of events took place and I noticed a change in her. I continued to pray. I was firm in my conviction. One day she shared that she was now convinced God was leading. I am convinced Natasha and I are meant to be, because God orchestrated our coming together in the beginning.
