Every time we visit Lake Geneva this is our favorite way to start the day. If you have a little extra time during the weekend, we highly recommend a stroll along the Lake Geneva Shore Path. This scenic lakeside trail winds past historic estates, gardens, and private docks—with stunning views of the water the whole way. Walk as much or as little as you'd like—it's a peaceful way to soak in the beauty of the area!
Just a few minutes outside of Lake Geneva, Boxed and Burlap is our favorite spot for coffee and tea. It’s part café, part greenhouse, with beautiful rustic decor, locally roasted coffee, and a great selection of teas. Whether you're grabbing a morning latte or looking for a peaceful place to relax, it’s totally worth the short drive.
This is our favorite lunch spot! Harpoon Willie’s is a perfect place to grab a meal, a cold drink, and soak in the small-town charm just steps from the water. Be sure to order the cheese curds and a Spotted Cow!
Magpie’s is lively and welcoming, featuring a large selection of canned beers, multiple TVs for sports fans (*Listen up Georgia football fans!), and a fun patio with plenty of outdoor seating, cozy fire pits, and games.
One of the best ways to experience the beauty of the area is from the water! Lake Geneva Cruise Line offers a variety of scenic boat tours—from relaxing shoreline cruises to historic estate tours and even ice cream socials on the lake. It’s a fun and easy way to soak in the views, learn a little local history, and enjoy the charm of Lake Geneva from a new perspective.
Safari Lake Geneva is Wisconsin’s only drive-through animal park—a conservation-focused wildlife preserve where you can explore rolling savanna and diverse animal herds from the comfort and safety of your own vehicle (about five miles from downtown Lake Geneva). We have never been, but this has been on Christine's Lake Geneva bucket list!
Ideal for craft‑beer lovers or anyone looking for a unique and inviting atmosphere in Lake Geneva.
One of our favorite spots on the lake! Whether you're looking for a relaxed lunch, a scenic dinner, or just a cocktail by the water, Pier 290 is a go-to! It’s right on the shore in Williams Bay, with beautiful views, beachy vibes, and live music most nights. We’ve spent many summer evenings here, toes in the sand, drinks in hand, and music playing in the background—it’s the perfect mix of fun and laid-back. If you have some downtime during the weekend, we definitely recommend stopping by!
If you're looking for a slightly more upscale dinner spot during the weekend, Café Calamari in Williams Bay is one of our top picks. This cozy, lakeside Italian restaurant serves up fresh pasta, seafood, and steak.
We absolutely love Dip in the Bay—it’s our go-to spot for a scoop of ice cream when we're in Williams Bay. Just a short stroll from the lake, this charming little shop serves up all the classics, plus their own spin on Chicago’s famous Rainbow Cone!
Chuck’s is our favorite local dive bar—casual, loud, and always a good time. Expect cold drinks and plenty of late-night shenanigans just steps from the lake. It’s a Lake Geneva favorite for both locals and out-of-towners.
