Natalie and Garrett's story began with a friendship during their freshman year at APU. After being friends for about a year, they decided to hang out one-on-one for the first time. They both quickly realized the feelings they had for each other and decided to keep hanging out for "guac nights". After some time getting to know each other, Garrett asked Natalie to be his girlfriend (woohoo!), and they dated for about a year and a half. In the summer of 2020, they broke up for a few months as they needed to re-evaluate their needs and wants in a relationship. After some time apart, it was clear that they were not meant to be apart forever. When they re-connected, Natalie and Garrett's relationship sprouted as they pursued Jesus in everything and chased their passions and dreams together. They can both confidently say this relationship has helped them grow deeper in their faith, their love for God, and their understanding of what God intended marriage to be. They feel blessed and excited in this season of engagement and in this relationship provided by God. They are extremely grateful for their family and friends who have helped them get to the place they are today.
